  • Commentary: Hi - just wanted to drop an extra special thank you to Evalani for helping us out so much during our recent stay with you. We've been away from home for 9 weeks and had stayed in many different hotels and hostels in Hong Kong, Australia and New Zealand, but none of the staff we met were as cheerful or as helpful as Evalani. She helped us out twice - first of all in a big way in retrieving my lost luggage from JetStar which was way above her job - thank you, that made such a huge difference to get it safely back again. Secondly in getting us a sightseeing flight over the volcanoes at such a good price with Island Hoppers - it was a magic end to our trip to Hilo. Evalani remembered everyone's names and always asked what we had been up to during the day - a great ambassador for you. Thanks so much!!! Catherine and John, Room 6A, 22 - 25 July 2008..

  • Commentary: My Wife and i stayed here in May 2005. We had a Westfalia van. My wife passed away. She loved Hilo. Thank You. Hope to visit Again Soon.

  • Commentary: Having had the occasion to stay at Arnotts over the course of four years now, I cant say how much I appreciate Dougs establishment. I travelled to the U.K, Cuba and a few other places and would rate Arnotts as one of the top hostels. Clean, Friendly& High on the ammenities list. This place has become like a home away from home for me. Many thanks to Doug and Staff.
