New category...as of June 1, 2011 we have done away with the traditional dormitory bunk...
While we have a few, inexpensive $25 open area beds, we now have only half the total number of beds and no upper/lower units....all are single beds. We have six, two-person share, lockable rooms for $30 a head or a discount for friends travelling together....one booking, one payment of $50 for the room. Our former dorm rooms have been upgraded and very nice custom bathrooms installed...Also we now take reservations for this category...
Sept 2011....thanks to our "affordable" travellers, this new category has been extremely successful....so much so we are modifying additional space !!

Like all Hotels in Hawaii we have to collect Hawaii State Gross Excise tax of 4.166% and a Transitory Accommodation tax of 9.25%, a total of 13.42%

On tours, snacks and other things we sell, the tax is 4.166%

As you can imagine the impact of thousands of visitors a year requires large expenditures by the County and State to provide good roads, clean safe parks, Police and Medical services in case of emergency etc. The tax you pay helps offset these services..Mahalo !!

Higher Hotel rates are charged during special events and the April Merrie Monarch Festival.
